Introducing The Rare.io
Written by Rob Lane.
We’ve been working hard to bring you a new version of Rare chock-full of the features you’ve been asking for.
We’ve focused our efforts on three fronts — ease of use, email analytics and subscriber support.
Here’s a quick breakdown of the major improvements you will find the next time you login:
Menus – We’ve moved to a sidebar menu. The benefit is that you can find the features you need with one click, and the product is no longer limited by the size of the top area. This saves you time, provides better organization and allows us to add more features and settings.
Groups – Your email will be categorized into two groups – Evented Mail and Bulk Mail. You will see these groups in the new navigation menu. Both groups are broken down into Published, Drafts and Archived – all are just a click away. The Evented Mail sections now display more context showing more mailout properties and a timeline that visualizes when a mailout is triggered in relation to the customer lifecycle.
Subscribers – Pro and Exec customers can now send mailouts to newsletter subscribers – we call them prospects – now you can send all your email with Rare and eliminate the need to pay for two ESPs. We’ve even added a feature named Connectors that can automatically import (and maintain sync) with your Campaign Monitor and MailChimp lists. You can find Connectors under the Settings menu.
Summaries – Rare always categorizes your customers into groups for attributes like quality or recency. Now you can see how your mailouts effect your customer base with innovative reports that show how many customers changed quality, or which recency group interacted and converted. The summary also shows how much value your campaigns have contributed to your average customer lifetime value (CLV).
Misc – Many little things have changed or have been improved. The Audience feature is now called Lists to align it with email terminology. When viewing customers you will see more detail including “info bubbles” in the lists, and all mail events including bounces and complains in the details. The “Lists Create” interface (previously Audience) has two modes: Customers and Prospects for making target lists for either group. You can find all your favorite reports within the “Lists Create” interface by clicking the chart icons. Additionally the list feature has been made even better with the introduction of vendor filters — now it is easy to target customers by the brands they purchase.
